Starting off with my first post!

I am interested in this certain topic because I have lived with soccer all of my life. I started playing soccer when I was around 3 years old. I have continued to play soccer all the way up to my senior year of high school. I really enjoy playing soccer and I hope to continue playing it for a while. I also wanted to make this blog because it will be good for me to be able to talk about soccer and see other peoples opinions on some pretty controversial topics.

Soccer is interacting with the world today in a whole bunch of different ways. First of all, it is all over the globe. Soccer is played in almost every country and it seems to get very popular especially around World Cup time or any other big cups. It also interacts because it has something to do with the economy. First of all some players are getting paid millions of dollars, this has a huge impact to some countries. Another thing is that it can possibly bring people together if they like watching the same team or it can end friendships if you get into an argument on certain teams. There is a ton of other examples but I could go on all day about all of them.

People should care about this topic because I think soccer is underrated and it should get more popular. I also want people to see the different types of trades going on between the teams and to notice some of the deals that are going on between the large companies. If people started to read the blog maybe they would start to create an interest in soccer or possibly think about joining it. But the main reason people should care about this topic is because it has a huge impact on some economies if people think it or not. Some players are getting millions of dollars a year and that all ties into the economy in some way. I think it would be interesting doing this topic and being able to learn more about it on my blog and see what really goes on between the deals and players.

  1. Nice first post Victor - you clearly have a great deal of background and interest in the sport. As you work on this throughout the semester just be careful not to get bogged down in the day to day action of the sport as a whole, bring in conversations about those different topics you mention. Also, make that voice of yours speak louder - paragraph two is where is really starts showing up!
